July 17, 2009- Local 2623 received this email from Joel Miller today. In this email, Assemblyman Miller makes it clear that his concern is not public safety, staffing, and response times. It is obvious that like usual, Assemblyman Miller has put politics ahead of public safety. As if his lack of concern is not enough, he is refers to our department's concern for public safety and superior service as "scare tactics." Click Here to read original emails sent to Joel Miller. Assemblyman Miller,
Local 2623's membership invited you to visit the fire station to learn about the types of buildings & construction we respond to, national and state guidelines & standards, as well as give you an overview of how our department operates. We have offered to present safety concerns for both our members and the public we serve. We are still waiting for you to stop in and visit.
