Welcome to our website. IAFF Local 2623 represents the 17 career firefighters and officers employed by the Fairview Fire District in Poughkeepsie, NY. The district covers approximately 4.5 square miles in the Towns of Poughkeepsie and Hyde Park, NY. Firefighters answer over 1500 alarms per year.

Fire Commissioner Thomas Ashline, Sr. Passes Away

It is with deep regret that Local 2623 announces the passing of Fire Commissioner Thomas Ashline, Sr. Mr. Ashline was also a retired City of Poughkeepsie Firefighter.

The Funeral Details are as Followed:

WAKE:
March 10th at Sweets Funeral Home on Route 9 in Hyde Park from 2-4 and 7-9
Firefighter services with be held at 7:30pm ( All FF's in Class A Uniform) Please meet at 7pm

FUNERAL SERVICES:
10am Thursday March 11th at the Sweets Funeral Home

Feb. 24th Busy for Fairview Firefighters

2/24/2010- February 24th proved to be a busy day for Fairview Firefighters. The day and night shifts responded to a total of 14 calls for assistance. Alarms included 2 first alarm fire assignments, numerous fire alarms, and public assistance calls. Firefighters also responded to several emergency medical runs, including an emergency childbirth.

Fairview 41-11 Runs to 2nd Alarm Fire in Roosevelt Fire District

2/13/2010- HYDE PARK, NY: Fairview 41-11 went to work in Roosevelt Fire District at the scene of a 2nd alarm fire on Greentree Drive in the Town of Hyde Park.

An aggressive attack was made by Roosevelt FD. Fairview Firefighters assisted with fire suppression and overhaul.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
